Puppies Health: Wilderness K9 states that this puppy is in good health at the time of pick-up. At the expense of the Buyer, this puppy should be examined by a veterinarian within 72 hours of possession to VALIDATE the health guarantee. There will be NO REFUNDS OF ANY KIND unless the puppy is found to have a life-threatening illness diagnosed by a vet within 72 hours from the date of purchase, the BUYER may then return this puppy to Wilderness K9 at the BUYER’S expense to receive a full refund or a replacement puppy if one is available. All paperwork, including AKC and Microchip must be returned as well. After 72 hours there will be NO REFUND OF ANY FUNDS and only a replacement puppy can be given from the current litter if available or buyer will have to wait until a future breeding of breeder’s choice. Buyer is responsible for transport costs of the replacement puppy. (Exclusion: This does not include the presence of parasites and does not apply to a health problem resulting from injury or accident due to buyer’s negligence) Viral or bacterial infections such as Coccidia and Giardia are easily treated and very common in puppies. These are not covered in the health guarantee as puppies are naturally at risk for them.
Environmental factors such as allergies, thyroid dysfunction, demodectic mange, or any other autoimmune disorders are not covered by this guarantee. Entropion, Ectropion, or glandular hypertrophy (cherry eye) are considered common to the breed and are not covered under the contract. Wilderness K9 warrants the puppy for 2 years from the date of birth against Life Threatening Genetic and Congenital defects. Should a genetically caused death or life-threatening diagnosis be confirmed by two non-associated veterinarians within the 2 years of birth, all supporting documentation must be provided upon request and is subject to review by the seller’s veterinarian. The seller does not warrant cryptorchidism or guarantee reproductive capability or show quality.
Wilderness K9 guarantees the dog to be free of crippling hip dysplasia at the age of 24 months or younger. X-rays must be taken before the dog is 14 months of age for preliminary evaluation then once again at 24 months and be performed by a licensed veterinarian who is skilled at producing x-rays for OFA evaluation. If the dog is diagnosed with crippling hip dysplasia with a score of moderate to severe by both preliminary evaluation as well as official evaluation confirmed by OFA in both hips that is not the result of injury or malnutrition, a replacement will be given of Wilderness K9’s Choice. OFA documentation and proof of spay/neuter must be provided by the buyer before replacement is given and dog returned to Wilderness K9. AKC paperwork must be returned along with the dog.

The parties each acknowledge that there are inherent risks involved in buying a puppy, even one with proper health tested parents. Seller represents and warrants that reasonable precautions have been taken by the breeder to hopefully prevent the puppy from acquiring hereditary defects. Never the less due to known and unknown hereditary and genetic tendencies or weaknesses in purebred dogs, which are beyond the seller’s control, seller makes no guarantee that the puppy will be free of all genetic tendencies/weaknesses throughout its entire lifetime. In the event however that the puppy is within the applicable warranty period set forth in this contract, diagnosed by a board-certified veterinarian as being affected by the stated covered conditions, the puppy will be replaced under the terms stated in this contract.
Breeder is not responsible for any vet bills made after the pup leaves the care of Wilderness K9 and shall not be responsible for injury caused by carelessness or negligence on the part of the buyer. Once the puppy leaves our care, we have very little control over how the puppy is handled, where the puppy is taken or what the puppy is exposed to. Wilderness K9 is not liable for any accident or injury caused by the animal. Breeder makes no guarantees regarding the loss of puppy due to accidental death, theft, sickness due to lack of vaccinations, etc. or any other loss beyond the control of the breeder, except as stated above. It also does not cover illnesses due to the ingestion of foreign objects, food, chemicals, stress related issues, behavioral issues, physical injuries and/or illnesses which may have occurred and/or contracted during transport to the buyer or during the buyer’s possession. Once an animal leaves our property, we have zero control on how the animal is treated and/or trained.
Breeder retains the right to reclaim the dog if we find it is being mistreated or neglected. Any mistreatment or neglect voids all guarantees. Any warranties or guarantees offered to the original buyer are not transferable. The breeder wishes to make sure that the dog is well cared for and placed in a proper environment for its whole lifespan. ALL puppies are micro-chipped with Katie Stout’s name as the alternate contact with her contact information, the new buyer’s information will be first. This is to ensure the puppy always has a safe home if the puppy gets lost or stolen the seller and buyer will work together to get the puppy back to the buyer. Microchip Number must be confirmed and matching with records from Wilderness K9, to confirm this dog originally came from Wilderness K9 to validate this guarantee on all claims.
Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES is the dog to be placed in an Animal Shelter or any other similar establishment unless agreed to by Wilderness K9.
The BUYER agrees to maintain this puppy/dog in good health, provide routine preventative health care, including but not limited to, inoculations, internal and external parasites, and preventative medications. BUYER agrees to provide fresh water and proper quality food in the correct amounts.
Rehoming: If for ANY REASON you are unable to care for your puppy or adult dog or wish to rehome the dog – PLEASE contact us immediately. We will assist you in relocating your puppy in a new home and if needed make space available at our home in order to re-home him/her. Although we will not reimburse you for the purchase price of the puppy (unless a price is agreed upon) – we guarantee to assist you in placing him/her into a new home. We also ask if you decide to re-home this puppy or adult dog on your own that we will be provided with the new owners contact information so that we are able to stay in contact with them. If the buyer is unable to care for this puppy for any reason, Wilderness K9 retains the right of recovery of the puppy at the buyer’s expense. Once the dog is surrendered to Katie Stout with Wilderness K9, all rights to that dog are relinquished by the buyer.
I acknowledge that this is a legal and binding contract and have reviewed and agree to the terms listed above. The buyer agrees to maintain up to date vaccines, and to keep the puppy/dog in humane conditions, providing proper food, water and shelter. This contract applies only to the original purchaser and is NOT transferable. By signing this agreement, you are waiving your right to a jury or bench trial and you are agreeing to arbitrate all claims arising or related to your puppy purchased from Wilderness K9. It is further understood the buyer will be responsible for all fees for the arbitration. The arbitration will also take place in Rhea County, Tennessee.
Hereby enter into and agree to abide by the terms set forth herein and consider this to be a legal and binding contract. By signing below you understand the conditions of this contract.
